* Implement utility functions for dynamic stringsLukas Fleischer2016-01-131-0/+16
| | | | | | | | Introduce support for strings which support concatenating the current value with a printf-style formatted value, thereby growing in size dynamically. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <lfleischer@calcurse.org>
* Add pre-save and post-save hooksLukas Fleischer2016-01-071-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds support for hooks which are executed before/after saving calcurse data. Hooks can be placed under hooks/pre-save and hooks/post-save in the data directory and need to be executable. Potential use cases include: * Automatically commit any changes to the data files using a VCS. * Automatically sync with some sever component on data file changes. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <lfleischer@calcurse.org>
* Split out code for drawing week numbersLukas Fleischer2015-04-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | This allows for easily adding week numbers to other panel modes, such as the monthly view. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Use time_t instead of long in several placesLukas Fleischer2015-02-241-16/+13
| | | | | | | Start converting some variables and return values to store times from long to time_t. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Introduce starts_with() and starts_with_ci()Lukas Fleischer2015-02-241-0/+2
| | | | | | | | Create user-defined functions to check whether a string contains a certain prefix instead of messing around with strncmp() and strncasecmp(). Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add support for UTC times in iCal importsLukas Fleischer2015-02-231-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to the iCal standard (4.3.12 Time): UTC time, or absolute time, is identified by a LATIN CAPITAL LETTER Z suffix character (US-ASCII decimal 90), the UTC designator, appended to the time value. Parse such time values properly when importing iCal files. Fixes GitHub issue #3. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Update copyright rangesLukas Fleischer2015-02-071-1/+1

* Let SIGUSR1 trigger a reloadTim Hentenaar2014-10-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In an effort to better integrate the import process with external applications, it's desirable to have a mechanism by which external programs can trigger a reload of calcurse's data. This patch adds that functionality via SIGUSR1. The reload request is handled in the main loop. When the user is currently entering data, the request is delayed until the main loop is re-entered. Signed-off-by: Tim Hentenaar <tim@hentenaar.com> Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Factor out item reload codeLukas Fleischer2014-10-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | Adds a new function io_reload_data() which can be used to reload all appointments and TODO items. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>

| | | | Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Allow for filtering TODO itemsLukas Fleischer2014-08-061-7/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | The item filters now apply to both appointments and TODO items. Also, add a new type mask "todo" and the following new filter options: * --filter-priority * --filter-completed * --filter-uncompleted Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add pattern filter optionLukas Fleischer2014-08-061-1/+2
| | | | | | | This adds a new item filter option --filter-pattern and removes the whole -S parameter logic, while making -S an alias for --filter-pattern. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add item filtersLukas Fleischer2014-08-061-5/+24
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the following filter options that allow for restricting the set of items that are read from the appointments file: * --filter-type * --filter-start-from * --filter-start-to * --filter-start-after * --filter-start-before * --filter-end-from * --filter-end-to * --filter-end-after * --filter-end-before Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Refactor new_tempfile()Lukas Fleischer2014-07-221-2/+1
| | | | | | | | Avoid preallocating buffers on the stack, use dynamic memory allocation instead. Also, change the semantics of new_tempfile() so that it returns the full name of the temporary file and fix all call sites. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add vasprintf() and asprintf()Lukas Fleischer2014-07-221-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | The new utils.c functions vasprintf() and asprintf() are analogs to sprintf() and vsprintf(). However, instead of requiring a buffer that is large enough to hold the output data, the functions allocate a string and return a pointer to it. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Use wins_set_bindings() for the configuration menuLukas Fleischer2014-07-181-2/+9
| | | | | | | Make use of the general key binding context switching implementation for the configuration main menu. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Rework key binding context switchingLukas Fleischer2014-07-171-9/+2
| | | | | | | Store key binding contexts using another data structure to optimize space usage and execution time. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Only run the merge tool on files with differencesLukas Fleischer2014-07-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | If the backup file and the data file are equal, there is no need to run the merge tool. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Split out code to set bindingsLukas Fleischer2014-07-171-0/+2
| | | | | | | | Split wins_status_bar() into wins_set_bindings(), wins_update_bindings() and wins_status_bar(). This allows for using wins_set_bindings() to set custom key bindings to be displayed. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Refactor wins_launch_external()Lukas Fleischer2014-07-161-2/+1
| | | | | | | | Allow for passing an arbitrary number of arguments. This also allows us to remove wins_launch_external2() and use wins_launch_external() at all call sites instead. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Allow for merging data files when reloadingLukas Fleischer2014-07-161-4/+9
| | | | | | | | This allows for merging the (unsaved) items with the items from the data files when invoking the reload operation. To this end, an external merge tool (defaults to vimdiff) is used. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Warn when reloading with unsaved modificationsLukas Fleischer2014-07-161-0/+3
| | | | | | | Since the reload operation overwrites all changes, warn before reloading if there are unsaved modifications. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add a key binding to reload appointments and todosLukas Fleischer2014-07-161-0/+1
| | | | | | | This allows for reloading the appointment and todo item files without having to restart calcurse. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Initialize linked list for recurrent itemsLukas Fleischer2014-07-161-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | When switching to the generic linked list implementation for recurring events in 9fab248 (Use generic lists for recurring apointments and events., 2011-04-16), no initialization routine for the list of recurring events was added. Fix this and properly initialize the list on startup. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>

* Avoid blank space after the last list box itemLukas Fleischer2014-05-191-0/+2
| | | | | | | Automatically scroll down the list box when resizing creates some blank space below the list of items. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Resize panels properlyLukas Fleischer2014-05-191-2/+2
| | | | | | | Rewrite the panel resize code and remove the code that reinitializes the caption and the selected item when the window is resized. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>

* Add support for caption rows in list boxesLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-2/+14
| | | | | | | This adds support for rows that cannot be selected. Such rows can be used for section headings and the like. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* ui-day: Large-scale refactoringLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-26/+26
| | | | | | | | | | Use the generic list box implementation for the appointments panel. This results in some major changes to how the items are printed. Note that this temporarily removes the heading showing the POM and the date as well as the separating line between events and appointments. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Store appointments for the current day in a vectorLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-1/+1
| | | | | | This allows for more efficient access to items at specific positions. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>

| | | | Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* ui-calendar: Use scroll window implementationLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | Make use of the generic scroll window implementation for the calendar view. Note that this is useful despite the panel not needing a scroll bar, since the scroll window functions can be used to draw the panel border and take care of relative positions. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* ui-todo: Large-scale refactoringLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-17/+17
| | | | | | | This is a complete overhaul of the TODO list user interface. The new implementation uses the generic list box panel. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add support for drawing highlighted decorationLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-2/+2
| | | | | | | This allows for drawing selected scroll windows and list boxes with a highlighted border. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Reduce flicker when resizing in option menusLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | Do not update the main windows when resizing the terminal in the general options menu or in the notification options menu. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add a generic list box implementationLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-0/+26
| | | | | | | | This adds a very generic list box implementation. List boxes with items of different heights are supported. Two callback functions to determine the height of every single item and to draw a specific item are used. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Rework scroll window implementationLukas Fleischer2014-05-181-5/+13
| | | | | | | | | | This complete rewrite of the scroll window implementation decouples scroll windows from every other window abstraction layer we use. Note that this leads to some code duplication. The long-term purpose of this rewrite, however, is to eventually make every panel use scroll windows. This makes for a huge cleanup of the UI code. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Pass date parameter to ui_day_update_panel()Lukas Fleischer2014-05-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | This allows for drawing appointment panels for days other than the current day. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Display translated help pagesLukas Fleischer2013-08-271-0/+1

| | | | Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Drop legacy online help systemLukas Fleischer2013-07-171-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Remove the old online help system and change the generic help key to do the same thing as ":help". This also removes some context-sensitive help. We should think about re-adding support for this later. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add command promptLukas Fleischer2013-07-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | This adds support for vim-style command mode. The command mode can be entered with pressing ":" (by default, the key binding is configurable). Currently, no command is supported. Support for various commands will be added later. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Add -l/--limit optionWilliam Pettersson2013-07-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Adds the -l/--limit command line option. Limits the number of appointments and/or ToDo items displayed. Signed-off-by: William Pettersson <william.pettersson@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Use a macro to determine the size of arraysLukas Fleischer2013-05-041-0/+2
| | | | | | | | Use following macro instead of "sizeof(x) / sizeof(x[0])" everywhere: #define ARRAY_SIZE(x) (sizeof(x) / sizeof((x)[0])) Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* Use tabs instead of spaces for indentationLukas Fleischer2013-04-141-222/+227
| | | | | | | | | | | This completes our switch to the Linux kernel coding style. Note that we still use deeply nested constructs at some places which need to be fixed up later. Converted using the `Lindent` script from the Linux kernel code base, along with some manual fixes. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
* parse_{date,time}(): Split out date/time validationLukas Fleischer2013-02-271-0/+2
| | | | | | | | Split date/time validation into separate functions check_date() and check_time(). These will be used to validate date/time information when reading items from the appointments file. Signed-off-by: Lukas Fleischer <calcurse@cryptocrack.de>
